Instructions:

Notes:

9 indicate star blanket is worked in the round in double crochet stitches, with a 5.5mm claw. When irresolute colours, work the last yarn over the terminal stitch with the next color.  Owl pieces are made separately with a 4mm claw and seamed to the coating.

Blanket:

Employ five.5mm hook

Round one:

With A and 5.5mm hook, Magic Ring, ch 3 (counts equally 1 dc here and throughout), work viii dc in ring, pull band tight, sl st in 3rd ch of ch iii to bring together—nine sts.

Round 2:

Ch 3, work 1 dc in start st, work ii dc in each st around, sl st in third ch of ch three to bring together—xviii sts.

Round three:

Ch three, work (1 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in offset st, sk next st, *work (two dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next st, sk next st; rep from * around, sl st in 3rd ch of ch iii to join—36 sts.

Round 4:

Ch three, *work (2 dc, ch 2, two dc) in ch-2 sp, work 1 dc in adjacent st, sk 2 sts, work ane dc in next st; rep from * around [7 more times], work (2 dc, ch ii, ii dc) in ch-2 sp, work 1 dc in side by side st, sk last st, change to B on last dc, sl st in 3rd ch of ch iii to join—54 sts.

Circular half-dozen:

Ch 3, piece of work i dc in next 2 sts, *work (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ch-2 sp, work 1 dc in next 3 sts, sk 2 sts, piece of work 1 dc in next 3 sts; rep from * effectually [seven more than times], piece of work (ii dc, ch 2, two dc) in ch-2 sp, work ane dc in side by side 3 sts, sk last st, sl st in 3rd ch of ch iii to join—90 sts.

Use 4mm hook. Use pins to hold pieces in place for sewing.

Crochet Baby Owl Lovey

Head:

Use a stitch marker to mark the showtime st of every round, move marker up as you become.

Circular 1:

With MC and 4mm hook, Magic Circumvolve, ch 1, work 10 sc in ring, pull ring tight (don't bring together)—x sts.

Round 2:

Work 2 sc in each st effectually—20 sts.

Circular 3:

*Work 1 sc in first st, work 2 sc in side by side st; rep from * effectually—30 sts.

Round 4:

*Work one sc in offset  two sts, work ii sc in next st; rep from * effectually—forty sts.

Rounds five-12:

Work 1 sc in each st around—40 sts.

Round 13:

*Work ane sc in first ii sts, work 1 sc2tog adjacent two sts; rep from * effectually—30 sts.

Round xiv:

Work 1 sc in each st around—30 sts.

Round xv:

*Work 1 sc in first st, work i sc2tog next two sts; rep from * around—20 sts.

Round sixteen:

Work ane sc in each st effectually—20 sts.

Stuff head with polyester fibrefill.

Round 17:

*Piece of work ane sc2tog next 2 sts; rep from * around—10 sts. Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing. With yarn needle weave through the front loop simply of each st effectually, pull tight. Weave ends.

Beak:

Round ane:

With I and 4mm hook, ch 6, work ane sc in 2nd ch from claw, work i hdc in adjacent ch, work 1 dc in each of side by side two chs, piece of work one tr in last ch. Spike off leaving a long tail for sewing.

Eyes: Make ii

Round ane:

With Grand and 4mm hook, Magic Band, ch one, work viii sc in ring, pull ring tight, sl st in first sc to join—8 sts.

Round 2:

Ch 1, work 2 sc in each st effectually, sl st in first sc to bring together—xvi sts.

Round 3:

Ch ane, *piece of work ane sc in first st, work 2 sc in next st; rep from * around, sl st in first sc to join—24 sts. Spike off leaving a long tail for sewing.

Embroider sleepy eye with H. Weave 4 sections to Round 2.  Weave 5 eyelashes across Round iii of eye. Knot ends to WS of work and trim.

Sewing:

The starting rounds of head are the front. Pivot eyes and neb on the front of head and sew in place.

Ears: Make 2

Round 1:

With MC and 4mm hook, Magic Band, ch 1, piece of work six sc in ring, pull band tight, sl st in first sc to join—half dozen sts.

Round 2:

Ch ane, piece of work 1 sc in get-go st, ane sc in next st, work ii sc in next st, work 1 sc in each of adjacent 2 sts, piece of work two sc in terminal st, sl st in outset sc to join—viii sts.

Rounds 3-4: Ch one, piece of work 1 sc in first st and in each st around, sl st in kickoff sc to join—8 sts. Circular 5: Ch 1, work 1 sc in first st and in each of next 2 sts, work two sc in next st, work ane sc in each of next 3 sts, piece of work 2 sc in last st, sl st in first sc to join—10 sts.

Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing.

Ear Tassels: Make 2

Tassel is made up of half-dozen strands: 1 each of A-F. Cutting strands 8″ long. Adhere tassel by inserting crochet hook through the height of the ear, fold fringe in half and pull folded end through. Insert fringe ends through the loop and pull to tighten. Trim ends. Pivot ears in identify and sew to the top of the caput.

Sewing:

Sew head to the first round of blanket.

Wings: Make ii

Row 1 (Base):

With A and 4mm hook, ch 4,  work 1 dc in 4th ch from claw— 1 dc, ch three (2 posts made)

Row 2 (Plumage):

Ch 3, working down the dc post, piece of work four dc, ch i, rotate work so that y'all tin piece of work upward ch 3 postal service, work 4 dc, ch three, sl st to centre of feather— 1 plumage fabricated.

Row iii:

Ch iii, work i dc in aforementioned sp— two posts fabricated.

Row 4 (Feather):

Ch 3, working downwardly the dc mail service, piece of work iv dc, ch 1, rotate work so that you can work up ch three post, work four dc, ch iii, sl st to center of feather— 1 feather fabricated.

Row 5:

Ch 3, piece of work ane dc in same sp— ii posts made.

Row 6 (Feather):

Ch 3, working down the dc mail service, work four dc, ch 1, rotate piece of work so that you tin work upwards ch 3 mail service, work 5 dc— 1 plumage fabricated.

Row 7 (Incr):

Ch 3, piece of work 1 dc in same sp, ch 2, work 2 dc in centre of feather, ch ii, work ii dc in ch-3 sp—3 (2 dc clusters) made.

Row viii (Feather):

Ch 3, working downward the dc post, work iv dc, ch 1, rotate work so that you can piece of work up the other dc post, work 5 dc upwardly dc, ch 1 and sk next 2 dc cluster, work 5 dc downwards the offset dc of adjacent cluster, ch ane and rotate, work 5 dc upward adjacent dc of same cluster— 2 feathers made.

Row 9 (Incr):

Ch 3, piece of work 1 dc in same sp, ch two, work 2 dc in eye of feather, ch 2, work two dc in-betwixt feathers (going over ch-one and in between 2 dc cluster (Row 8), ch 2, piece of work two dc in middle of plume, ch 2, work 2 dc in ch-3 sp—5 (2 dc clusters) made.

Row 10 (Feather):

Ch 3, working down the dc post, work four dc, ch 1, rotate work so that y'all can piece of work up the other dc post, piece of work five dc up that dc, *ch ane and sk adjacent 2 dc cluster, work 5 dc downwards the start dc of side by side cluster, ch one and rotate, work 5 dc up next dc of same cluster; rep from * beyond—3 feathers made. Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing.

Crochet Baby Owl Lovey

Sewing:

Feathers WS facing utilize a yarn needle to sew 3 feather ends together. Weave the needle through the corner, centre of feathers and betwixt feathers beyond. Pull to tighten and agglomeration feathers together (see video). Knot tail ends together to secure. Wrap wings around the first four rounds of the coating. Sew in identify. Sew together the first feather together.

Tassels: Make 9

Tassel is made upwards of 6 strands: 1 each of A-F. Cut strands viii″ long. Attach tassel by inserting crochet hook through the summit of ear corner ch-2 sp of the coating, fold fringe in one-half and pull folded stop through. Insert fringe ends through the loop and pull to tighten. Trim ends. Steam ends if needed.
